WHy not Join Lisa and I tomorrow for a nice ride

If you want a good ride tomorrow we (some of us, so far Lisa, her friend Jeff and myself) are meeting at Southwestway park for a goal ride of about 56 miles and a couple of attacks on Observatory Hill. It will be a two loop ride with a SAG at the park between, so if you wanted to join us for half that distance it would be easy to do. Start time is 8 am

There is a 60% chance it won't rain and start temp should be the high 50's, with wind holding steady out of the south (should be at our backs on both returns), be sure to bring a rain jacket:)Meeting at the parking lot at the entrance to Southwestway Park. Bring food for SAG if you're planning to ride both loops.

And so it begins

I just want to say it has been great working with all of my JDRF ride buddys at Conseco!

Looking forward to the rest of the games (but my left foot isn't) :)

I am riding the Nebo ridge ride tonight and I understand a lot of you will be there on Thursday, i can't wait to ride with you and just like it is never to early to start fundraising, it is never to early to get out on the road.

This is going to be another great year and I am looking forward to riding with you all!!

Peace

Michael

Spinning Class NEXT Sunday

The weather is warming up a bit, we will be officially starting our outdoor riding season in a month so start thinking about getting your bike tuned up & ready to go.

Spinning Class Next Sunday
Our next spinning class will be next Sunday, March 28th at the Benjamin Harrison YMCA (5736 Lee Rd) starting at 1pm; this is a change from our published scheduled, there is NO class this week. Please come next week and bring some friends. RSVP so we can leave your name at the door (you do not need to be a Y member). Our final spinning class is April 7th at the Atheneum YMCA (401 E. Michigan) at 1pm.

Training Schedule
Our ride kick-off with the Youth Ambassadors will be Saturday, April 17th and we will do a 10 mile ride before that. Our mandatory ride orientation will be Saturday, April 24th and will include a 15 mile ride. The full training schedule for this year has been posted on the blog (left hand side under Links to Team Information). This is subject to change, but for the most part it is correct. There are schedules for the Death Valley, Wisconsin & Lake Tahoe rides.

Registration
Registration is OPEN for all rides. We currently have over 25 riders registered from Indiana. Contact Stacey if you have questions.

Fundraising
It is never to early to start fundraising. Fundraising events are posted on the blog. If you are looking for an additional fundraising opportunity you should consider participating in the Conseco concession stand effort. Dates for March include Friday, March 19th, Sunday, March 21st and Friday, March 26th. Although there is some up front commitment for this, it has the potential to raise a lot of money. If you are interested please contact Amy VanDewielle (avandewielle@riverview.org).

Over 20 registered so far...

As of this morning there are 22 riders from Indiana registered for the Ride to Cure Diabetes, a majority of them going to Death Valley.  This is great news and I'm looking foward to a fantastic ride with such a great team.  If you are still on the fence I would encourage you to consider joining us - let's make it 30!

According to my non-poll we have over 10 riders signed up after Day 1, this is shaping up to be a great year.

Great Spinning Class
Thanks Kate for being our instructor, it was a great workout. We had 10 riders, glad to see everyone getting geared up for the season.

NEXT EVENT
Our event will be a bike clinic at Indy Cycle Specialist (5804 E. Washington) on Tuesday, February 17th at 6:30pm. Please come and bring some friends.

Revised Training Schedule
I have already made a few tweaks to the Training Schedule which is posted on the blog (left hand side under Links to Team Information). I have added a tab with a training schedule for the Wisconsin ride, for those of you who are choosing that option.
